Build the game, then play it. The Wooden-Town Fortune Quest is a full property trading board game that you assemble yourself from 907 laser-cut wooden parts — complete with a working spinning wheel at the centre, light-up city landmarks and sound effects.
Travel between sixteen world cities, from New York and London to Tokyo, Dubai and Rio de Janeiro. Buy properties, collect rent, draw Chance and Event cards, answer Q&A questions and press a tile to upgrade a city — watching its landmark light up inside its case. With four zinc alloy tokens, 92 cards and 210 bills, this is a proper game night in a box, and the box is something you built.
Most board games arrive finished. This one arrives as a challenge. You assemble the base, the raised city tiles, the card trays, the landmark cases and — the centrepiece — a fully working wooden wheel with a steel ball that decides how far you move. It's a master-level build with genuine mechanics, and finishing it is its own reward.
Then the game starts. Players circle the board buying cities, upgrading them with houses and landmarks, paying rent and drawing from five different card decks. The Q&A cards add trivia about the world's landmarks, the Event and Chance cards keep things unpredictable, and Item cards let you interfere with everyone else. It plays well with two to four players and works just as nicely as a display piece between game nights.
The illustrated step-by-step manual guides you through the whole build, from the base frame and card trays to the city tiles and the central wheel mechanism. Parts are pre-cut and numbered, so you always know what comes next. Once finished, connect a USB Type-C cable, gather two to four players and start the first lap.
Please note: This is a DIY kit and requires assembly. It is a master-level model — take your time with the wheel mechanism. The USB Type-C cable is not included and needs to be provided by you. Contains small parts and a small marble; not suitable for children under 3 years.
